SwimFix

Your watch counted too many lengths? Fix pool lengths, rests and stroke types in your Garmin FIT file right in your browser. Free, no account and no file upload.

When one length becomes two.

During a pool swim, your watch may detect an extra turn or count a rest as an active length. The recorded distance, pace and SWOLF can then differ from your actual swim. SwimFix helps you review and correct those lengths.

The automatic check compares length times and stroke counts, highlights unusual sections and suggests merges or rests. You decide which changes fit your swim. You can also select lengths manually, change stroke types and undo edits before downloading a corrected FIT file.

Your activity stays in your browser’s memory. There is no upload, sign-in or analytics script on this page. Download the edited file before closing or reloading the page; your original file is never overwritten.

Editing a FIT file: common questions

What can SwimFix fix in a FIT file?

SwimFix edits Garmin FIT files from pool swims. You can merge two neighbouring lengths in the same interval or turn a length into a rest. You can also change the stroke type. After each edit, SwimFix recalculates the distance and the swim metrics that depend on it.

How do I fix my FIT file?

Open the FIT file you exported from your swim. SwimFix looks for unusually short lengths and suggests merges or rests. Apply the suggestions that fit, or select lengths yourself. Then download the new file. Its name ends in _swimfix, and your original file stays as it is.

Is my swim activity uploaded or stored?

No. Your browser reads and edits the file in memory. This page has no upload, no account and no analytics script. Save the edited file before you close or reload the page.

Can SwimFix repair corrupted FIT files?

No. SwimFix fixes miscounted lengths in pool swims it can read. It does not recover damaged files, and it does not edit runs, rides or open-water swims. SwimFix does not support compressed timestamps or chained FIT files yet.

Does editing change my heart rate or calories?

No. SwimFix keeps total time, heart-rate data, calories and every record you leave alone. It recalculates the values that come from your lengths: distance, active lengths, strokes, pace and SWOLF. You can undo every edit.
